Strike Out Homelessness 5k

Most often when families come to Providence House they have nothing—no home, no car, very few belongings and no plan for the future. The singular aim of Providence House is to break the homeless cycle one family at a time! How?  After 28-years of serving the homeless community, our success begins with emotional support for the whole family. With specialized guidance, intensive counseling, educational training and a high level of accountability, Providence House serves an average of 80 families each day which includes almost 170 children. We invite you to join us in our vision….”Imagine a community where no family is homeless.”

Race Course: Providence House 2nd Annual STRIKE OUT
HOMELESSNESS 5K RUN will begin and end at Providence House traveling past several historical sites in the downtown area.

Following the run, local band, Downtown Wave, will perform while participants
enjoy a bowl of delicious gumbo provided by Herby K’s Restaurant.

Registration: Early Registration is $25 until Sept. 2nd
Regular registration: $30 Sept. 3rd - Sept. 16th

Online registration closes Sept. 15th at 7:00 a.m.
Day of Race: $35

Family Price Breaks:
Family of 4-6 people (immediate family): $80
Family of 7-10 (immediate family): $105

T-shirt and Race Packet Pick-up: Every runner registered by Sept. 7th is guaranteed a t-shirt. Packet pick up will be held at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Avenue
Thursday, Sept. 14th from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 15th from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

You may also pick up your packet on race day at the race site, starting at 7:00 a.m.

1st place, Female and Male, in the following age divisions will receive an award:
10-under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+.

Overall male and female winner
will receive $100.

All Fun Run participants will receive an award.

Special Note: Under RRCA regulations, absolutely no baby joggers,
strollers, bikes, or skate devices.
