The 45th Annual Femmes Natales Runabout will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024!
We’d like to humbly introduce Mrs. Michelle McMillan as this year’s 45th Runabout recipient.
Mrs. Michelle is one of the co-founders of the beloved Lisa & Michelle's Ecole de Danse in Thibodaux. She is a loving wife, mother, and grandmother - 'Mawshell.'
Mrs. Michelle was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2022. She underwent surgery and treatment, followed by maintenance treatments every three weeks. One year after ringing the bell, Mrs. Michelle got the devastating news that cancer cells were back and began treatment once again. She has had to take a step back from her treasured dancers to focus on her health.
The organization of Femme Natales welcomes you to support Mrs. Michelle McMillan as this year’s 45th Runabout recipient. Please mark your calendars for September 14th, 2024 for a day of celebrating Mrs. Michelle through running (walking or watching), food, drinks, music and more. Meet Our Recipient : Mrs. Michelle McMillan
In keeping with tradition, we are excited and proud to host the 45th annual Femmes Natales Runabout on Saturday, September 14th, 2024. This year’s benefactor of the proceeds raised through this event is Mrs. Michelle McMillan.
Michelle was born and raised in Thibodaux, La. She and her husband, Patrick, have two children, Ross and Paige, along with a beloved grandson, Baylor. In 1983, Michelle and her sister, Lisa Stafford, began Lisa & Michelle's Ecole de Danse. They take great pride in sharing their passion for dance with many people in our community.
In May of 2022, Michelle underwent exploratory surgery and a complete hysterectomy. At this time, stage 4 ovarian cancer was found. She started treatment in June 2022 which consisted of six treatments, once every three weeks. Immediately following those treatments, Michelle began maintenance treatments every three weeks. In October 2023, a full year after ringing the bell, Michelle and her family got the devastating news that cancer cells were back. Shortly after, Michelle began the same treatment again - six treatments, every three weeks. Her doctors will monitor her progress through scans, and will immediately begin her maintenance treatments. Michelle has had to take a step back from her beloved dance studio to focus on her health.
