Run and Walk on the Bayou

31st Annual – Run and Walk on the Bayou - Saturday, January 26, 2019 Bayou Segnette State Park, 7777 Westbank Expressway, Westwego, La. 70094 

( Park entrance at Drake Avenue and Expressway ) 

Highlights:

• Course for all distances is held inside scenic Bayou Segnette State Park
• The 10K is an official Crescent City Classic 10K qualifier event
• Commemorative medallions to all finishers

Race Timeline: 

• 7:00 am – Day of race registration and packet pickup opens
• 8:00 am – Start of the Kids Dash ½ Mile Run and Walk
• 8:15 am – Start of the 5K and 10K Run and Walk

*CHIP TIMED EVENT: Please wear your bib number on FRONT and have it visible during the event. Your timing chip is affixed to back of bib, please do not fold or bend the chip

Entry fees ( Payable to NORSI ):

• $25.00 pre-registered by Dec 2nd 
• $30.00 by January 21st
• $35.00 on race day
• $20.00 Youth (age 17-under ) and Seniors ( age 65-over ) by Jan 21st   
• * DISCOUNT ENTRY FEES FOR YOUTH AND SENIOR ARE CALCULATED AT CHECKOUT 
• $25.00 day of race for Youth and Seniors 

Packet Pickup: Pre-race day

• When: Thursday, January 24th ( 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm ) hosted by Dynamic Physical Therapy
• Where: 7520 Westbank Expressway, Marrero
• Packet pickup also available on the day of race at the race site opening at 7:00 am

Award Divisions: Commemorative Award to all Finishers

• ½ MILE: 1st and 2nd in age divisions 6-under, 7-9, 10-12, 13 and over
• 5K: 1st overall and 1st, 2nd Place in age divisions 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-over
• 10K: 1st overall and 1st, 2nd Place in age groups: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-over
• Race Walkers Division: 1st, 2nd, 3rd overall in the 5K and 10K

* NORSI  / NOLArunning.com strongly suggests to NOT use any headphones, ear gear or similar devices that limit ones ability to hear important event instructions.

* Please be respectful of other runners/walkers on the course. Keep to right side of street / lane out and back . 

Please use trash cans located nearby each course water station. If discarding clothing on course , please place at one of the water stations.  There will be a lead bike for each distance,  no headphones, ear gear to be able to hear instructions from bike rider regarding oncoming lead runners ( Keep to the Right.. !! ) 

* An EMS unit will be stationed at the race site and Westwego  police officers will be on course during the event.  Should you need medical attention or see another participant that needs medical attention please wave down the nearest  officer or a volunteer at each water station to relay details to the race site EMS unit.     

* It is recommended that no pets be permitted. If you must have a pet with you please have very short leash and please be respectful of others on course.      

Post race festivities: Food, Beer, Soft Drinks, Elmer’s Chee Wees, Fruit, Kentwood Springs Water, Powerade
