According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, the CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases including:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

There is always risk when participating in an event like this or being in public.  We will take extra precaution noting COVID-19.  We encourage people with compromised immune systems, current illness, parents with infants/toddlers, and the very elderly with health issues to consider staying home if they registered for an event, as those are the populations that appear to be susceptible to the dangers of the virus.  If you are feeling ill or have flu-like symptoms, please do not show up. There is general agreement that outdoor endurance events, and the people likely patronizing such events are in low-risk categories.
