El Salvador: Una Tarde Alegre

In May 2025, Dany Lozano, the event director for the 591 Charity Run, and Kamila Claros, a fellow LSA board member, traveled with their families to Mojones, Santa Rosa de Lima, El Salvador to bring an unforgettable day of joy to over 100 children. The event, called “Una Tarde Alegre” , which means “A Joyful Afternoon”, was filled with laughter, community, and gratitude.

The team organized a full field day where kids played games, danced, and shared moments of pure excitement. Everyone was treated to pizza, ice cream, and drinks, simple things that meant the world in a community where gatherings like this are rare. The highlight of the day came when piñatas were brought out, filling the air with cheers and color as candy and confetti rained down.

One mother shared something that deeply touched everyone: she said that even at her age, she had never hit a piñata before. That small moment, her smile, her laughter, reminded us why we do what we do. Sometimes, the simplest experiences can create the most powerful memories.

Una Tarde Alegre wasn’t just an event. It was a living example of love in action, bringing families together, giving children a day to feel seen and celebrated, and reminding everyone that even small acts of kindness can have lasting impact. The joy in Mojones that day continues to inspire everything we do, pushing us to keep reaching new communities with hope, generosity, and faith.
