Parks Along the Course
Cupertino Park
Cupertino Park serves as the planned start and finish area for the Lake Michigan Half Marathon. This small lakefront park sits along the Oak Leaf Trail near Lake Michigan and offers a scenic shoreline setting to begin and end the race.
South Shore Park
South Shore Park brings runners into one of Milwaukee’s classic lakefront spaces, with open parkland, shoreline views, the South Shore Pavilion area, and a direct connection to the Oak Leaf Trail.
It is one of the first major park highlights on the route and helps set the tone for a course built around the lake.
Bay View Park
Bay View Park is a quieter lakefront stretch along South Lake Drive, where the Oak Leaf Trail continues south beside Lake Michigan.
With parkland, beach areas, and open views of the water, this section gives runners a true south shore feel without needing to dodge downtown traffic, which is always a lovely bonus.
Sheridan Park
Sheridan Park adds a larger park setting to the course as runners continue south into Cudahy.
The park includes wooded areas, native plant communities, shoreline access, and paved Oak Leaf Trail segments, creating a scenic transition between Milwaukee’s south side and the lakefront parks farther south.
Warnimont Park
Warnimont Park is one of the biggest scenic highlights of the course.
Known for its Lake Michigan bluff areas, natural spaces, wooded sections, and long paved trail segments, this park gives runners a beautiful stretch of shoreline running with plenty of fall color and lake views doing the heavy lifting.
Grant Park Area
The Grant Park area marks the southern portion of the course and brings runners near one of Milwaukee County’s most iconic lakefront parks.
Known for its wooded trails, ravines, beach access, Seven Bridges area, and Lake Michigan scenery, Grant Park gives the route a memorable turnaround zone before runners head back north toward the finish.
