IAFF Foundation Fire Fighter Mustache Contest

The IAFF Foundation proudly presents the IAFF Foundation Fire Fighter Mustache Contest – an event celebrating the longstanding tradition of mustaches in the fire service. This contest invites all IAFF members to showcase their creativity and camaraderie while supporting the IAFF Foundation's essential initiatives.

The IAFF Foundation Fire Fighter Mustache Contest aims to honor the longstanding tradition of mustaches in the fire service, symbolizing bravery, unity, and service.

We encourage YOU to help us raise funds to support the IAFF Foundation's critical work, including the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, disaster relief, peer support, behavioral health and wellness, burn treatment/burn camp, survivor scholarships, and occupational cancer support/research.

Event Details:

Date and Location: Online registration will be open July 1 – Aug. 27, 2024.
 
Prizes: Each winner will receive one prize consisting of a free registration to an IAFF event taking place the following year. This free registration can be used by anyone in the winner’s local.

Contestants will have the opportunity to win a prize in one of three categories, including:
Best Overall Mustache (traditional or DIY)
Most Creative Mustache (traditional or DIY)
Top Fundraising Mustache Contestant (overall top fundraiser)

 
*(There will be one winner per category. Winners will be announced during the 57th IAFF Convention in Boston, MA.)

Online Voting: Members of the public and IAFF affiliates can vote online for their favorite mustache contestant, celebrating the community's creativity and spirit.
 Each voter will be asked to pledge $10 or more to support their favorite contestant to help raise funds and awareness for IAFF members in need.

Honoring Tradition: For generations, mustaches have been a cherished symbol of honor and pride among fire fighters. They embody the courage and camaraderie that define this profession. From handlebars to horseshoes, mustaches have served as a badge of honor, uniting fire fighters in a shared tradition that spans decades.

Encouraging Participation: We warmly invite fire fighters of all genders to participate in the IAFF Foundation Fire Fighter Mustache Contest, embracing the opportunity to honor tradition while showcasing their creativity. Whether sporting a traditional mustache or crafting a DIY masterpiece, every participant contributes to the spirit of camaraderie and community.

Fundraising Opportunities to benefit the IAFF Foundation:

Entry Fees: Participants will pay an entry fee of $50 to compete in the contest, with proceeds supporting the IAFF Foundation's critical initiatives.

Donations: Spectators and supporters are encouraged to raise awareness and funds throughout the event, furthering our mission to support fire fighters and their families.

Merchandise Sales: Exclusive IAFF Foundation Fire Fighter Mustache Contes merchandise will be available for purchase, with proceeds directly benefiting the Foundation's important work.
