Description
The COVID Pandemic has put an increasing strain on many families in the Methuen Community.
The Methuen Public School's Backpack Program and Methuen CARES Center are on a mission to feed our families in need through weekly deliveries of groceries.
"Laughter is the Best Medicine" Red Nose Day started in the UK in 1988 by a charity called Comic Relief. It's mission? Use laughter as a way to bring hope and support to those in need. The red nose symbol has since become nationally recognized...and now it comes to Methuen!
The UK will celebrate Red Nose Day on March 19th. The Backpack Program team invites you to show your support by running or walking a 5K to raise awareness of food insecurity in our community. This is a free virtual event that allows you the weekend to choose the date and time for your personal 5K. Join our Facebook Community for support, love and the wind at your back as you take strides to end food insecurity for the children and families of Methuen.
The Backpack Program relies on the kindness and generosity of donors. This event is free. Would you be so kind as to let your family and friends know about the commitment you made and to support you through a small donation?
Grab your noses, lace up those sneakers and get ready to make a difference!
