Description

The Friends of the Poor® Walk is a nationwide signature event of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA. It was started in 2008 to raise awareness and funds to support the local Conference services to neighbors in need. The St Anselm Conference will be joining more than 250 other Friends of the Poor® Walks across the United States in an effort to help individuals and families going through hard times in our community and to eradicate poverty.

The walk is about 1 mile long and strolls in the St Anselm neighborhood. Walkers can bring family and dogs. Check-in starts at 9:45am and the walk begins at 10:15am.

Come and do something good! Our Conference works in close collaboration with the Sudbury social worker and with local charitable organisations to support our vulnerable neighbors. Together, we can make a meaningful difference through solidarity and compassion. Everyone is welcome to walk. Please, sign-up electronically if possible but we will have extra registration forms available on the day of the Walk. The walk is free and we will have snacks and drinks for all participants.

Walkers are encouraged to make a personal donation and to collect pledges from supporters such as family and friends. All online pledges go directly to the St Anselm Conference. Asking for pledges is a great way to spread awareness of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's mission and values! Please, help us reach our goal so we can continue helping those who need it the most, giving them some relief and hope.

Sign-up today. Your support will make a difference!
