Description
The Harford County Alumnae Chapter (HCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is doing its part to make a positive impact on the international community. The goal of this year’s ‘5K Water Dash’ is to assist the millions of men, women, and children who do not have access to the most essential element on God’s earth, WATER. Proceeds to benefit The Water Project.Org.
According to The United Nations.Org, nearly 1 billion people suffer needlessly without access to safe water. Nearly 80% of illness in developing countries is linked to poor water and sanitation conditions. Help us change lives…dash with us.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 5k Water Dash will again be a virtual race for 2022. Your registration will still help to deliver clean water to Africa.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Registrants will run or walk their distance at any location they choose on April 30, 2022. If you are participating in the 5K and would like to be listed in the results make sure you track your distance and time. You can do so with a watch or app. Make sure you complete the whole distance of 3.1 miles for a 5K. You will then be able to report your time. Please share your photos on social media by using the following hashtag: #HCAC5KWATERDASH
Entry Fee: $35
Packet Pick-up Date and Time: Saturday, April 23, 2022 (2:00PM) - 5 Church Creek Rd Belcamp, Maryland 21017
If you would rather have your materials shipped to you, you can choose that option during registration for an additional $5. Delivery of registration packet by mail, by race day, is not guaranteed if you register after April 16, 2022.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
Submit Results: Participants will be able to submit their results through runsignup.com on April 30, 2022, until 11:59 PM Eastern Time. You must complete your 5K (3.1 miles) during this time to be listed in the official results and be eligible for awards.
Awards: Top 3 overall male and female runners and walkers.
If you intend to compete for overall awards, you will need a method of recording your time and distance - a GPS watch, phone app, or a treadmill. To maintain the integrity of the competition as best as possible all award winners must submit photo proof of GPS/run data to verify time and distance (photo of the treadmill with time & distance, photo screenshot of a run tracker, etc.) Award winners will be emailed when the results submission period closes and asked to reply with their photo/screenshot. You MUST run or walk the full distance (3.1 miles). If a result cannot be verified, the award will roll down to the next participant.
All awards will be virtual gift cards.
