WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN?
A virtual run is a run that can be run or walked from any location you desire.  Run, jog, or walk on the road, trail, treadmill, bike, gym or even a track (or even at another race). You run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.  And your medal will be shipped directly to you.

TIPS FOR YOUR VIRTUAL RUN
1. Be safe – Follow appropriate social distancing guidelines. If you feel ill, please stay at home.
2. Plan your course ahead of time – Consider using an app like nike+ or racejoy to plan your routes.
3. Tell someone about your runs – It establishes accountability to complete it!
4. Run when it works for you.
5. Have fun! – You are exercising, while also supporting a good cause!

Why Tax Day?

April 18th is Tax day. On this day we celebrate our faithful, loving, and intelligent Doberman companions who've been a working breed from the start. They were bred to protect the tax collector whose namesake they share, Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann!

Dobermans were developed in late-19th century Germany by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann. Dobermann worked as a tax collector but he had a few side gigs as well. One was as a night watchman and the other was as the overseer of the town’s dog pound. Collecting tax money throughout the countryside put him at risk for bandits, as did his job as a night watchman. Dobermann used his position at the dog pound to start his own breeding program with the goal of developing an intimidating and vicious guard dog who was also intelligent, athletic, and a faithful companion. The result was the dog that now bears his name, the Doberman.

Why We Love Dobies:

Dobermans often get a bad rep as they have an intimidating and ferocious look to them. Their loyalty, intelligence, and agility has made them great personal protection, military, and police dogs. Today's Dobermanns are known to have a much more even and good-natured temperament, as well as extreme loyalty, high intelligence, and great trainability. The modern Dobermann is known to be energetic, watchful, fearless, and obedient.

Whether you have a Dobie of your own, know a neighborhood Dobie, or you just LOVE DOGS join us in raising funds to help rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and educate about these wonderful dogs.
