Celebrate the holidays with family and friends at the Holiday Hustle 5K! Holiday attire is encouraged – there are even awards for the best dressed. All participants receive a festive holiday long sleeve race shirt, finisher medal/ornament, and holiday goodie bag. It may end up being the least stressful day of the holiday season!

NEW FOR 2025: THE JINGLE JOG KIDS RUN!

This year, Charm City Run is excited to share that we have a BRAND NEW RACE specifically for kids 12 & under! The inaugural Jingle Jog Kids Run will take place on race day at 8:15 AM before the Holiday Hustle kicks off! The race will feature a short loop (roughly .5 miles) designed specifically for kids. Participants receive:

Race bib number
Chip-timed results
Custom finisher ribbon to commemorate their achievement
Hot chocolate and a "sweet" treat at the indoor post-race party

We're offering special pricing on this brand new event - just $17.90 (includes processing fees) to register!

Parents are welcome to run with their children if they wish. While no performance-based awards will be given, results will be posted online as finishers complete the race. The goal of the Jingle Jog Kids Run is to provide a fun and supportive atmosphere for kids to experience the thrill of running.

Here is how it works:

2. Receive a unique referral link via your confirmation page and email.

AWARDS

Top 3 overall Male, Female, and Non-Binary finishers
Top 3 males and females in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+
First runner to finish the course in a complete holiday costume (Christmas tree, reindeer, snowman, Santa, etc. For Santa costume must include a long sleeve shirt/jacket, red pants, beard, and hat - red running shorts are NOT pants).
Most festive costume (finishing time does not matter).

All Jingle Jog participants will receive a finisher ribbon when they compete the race. No time-based awards will be given for the Jingle Jog.

COURSE

The 5K course is entirely within the Harford Community College Campus. This loop course features one water stop that will be passed two times. Everyone will start at once, explore the rolling hills on the scenic campus grounds, and then a thrilling, festive finish all before meeting inside the gym for a warm cup of hot chocolate.

The course is entirely on paved and crushed gravel surfaces. For safety reasons, pets, roller skates, and other wheeled devices (with the exception of wheelchairs) are not allowed on the course. Jogging strollers are permitted, but we ask that you start in the back of the pack so that your stroller does not create a tripping hazard.

VIRTUAL OPTION

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local, or cannot attend the in-person race. Here's how the virtual race works:

1. Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications
2. Your race swag will be available for pickup at our Saturday packet pickup or will be mailed to you. We will begin mailing VIRTUAL race packets on December 16th.
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the virtual race "starts" on December 13th.
4. Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by December 14th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media with the hashtag #charmcityrun or download your photo(s) when you report your results.

*Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards.

BENEFICARY

Harford Family House is the largest provider of transitional housing for families with children experiencing homelessness and unaccompanied adults ages 18-24 in Harford County. They are the only organization in Harford County capable of keeping an intact family, including father, together during the crisis of homelessness. It’s their goal to end homelessness in Harford County, one family at a time.
