Moonlight 5K and Twilight Kids Run presented by Brooks

NEW THIS YEAR: THE TWILIGHT KIDS RUN PRESENTED BY BROOKS

This year, Charm City Run is excited to share that we have a BRAND NEW RACE specifically for kids 12 & under! The inaugural Twilight Kids Run presented by Brooks will take place on race day at 7:15 PM before the Moonlight 5K kicks off! The race will feature a short loop (roughly .6 miles) designed specifically for kids. Participants receive:

• Race bib number
• Chip-timed results
• 2 glow sticks
• Custom finisher ribbon to commemorate their achievement
• Coupon for a Kona Ice snowball at the post-race party

We're offering special pricing on this brand new event - just $17.90 (includes processing fees) to register! 

Parents are welcome to run with their children if they wish. While no performance-based awards will be given, results will be posted online as finishers complete the race. The goal of the Twilight Kids Run is to provide a fun and supportive atmosphere for kids to experience the thrill of running.

If you would like to pick up someone else's packet you must present their pre-race email that contains their QR code. We appreciate your cooperation with this.

VIRTUAL OPTION

We have created a virtual 5k race option for those who are unable to join us. Here's how the virtual race works:

1. Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications.
2. Your race swag will be available for pickup at our Friday packet pickup, or can be mailed to you at no additional cost. Virtual race swag will be mailed starting on July 15th.
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the race "starts" on July 12, 2025.
4. Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by July 13, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media with the hashtag #charmcityrun and #moonlight5K.
5. Sit back and enjoy your swag!

Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards.

Here is how it works:
1. Register online for the Moonlight 5K presented by Brooks.
2. Receive a unique referral link via your confirmation page and email.
3. Share this link with your friends, family or post on social media.
4. After (5) registrants sign up using your unique referral link you will automatically receive a refund of your registration fee.

COURSE

The 5K route will start through the grounds of the Harford County Equestrian Center then loop around the former duck pond before an out-and-back towards Annie's Playground.  The paths are mostly paved with a few boardwalks and a small gravel section.  There is one water stop around Mile 1 which will be passed again around Mile 2.5.  It's important to stay to the right side of the path along the entire route.  In the event of rain, the boardwalks will be slippery so please be careful. Course is subject to change.

AMENITIES

Moonlight 5K participants will receive the following:

• Race Shirt - A Brooks Performance shirt that will quickly become one of your favorites! Mens and Womens sizes from small to 2XL available, as well as youth sizes. (2024 shirt pictured below)
• Finisher Medal - All finishers will receive a custom finisher medal! This is one unique medal that will stand out from the rest. (2024 medal pictured below)
• Glow Sticks - Two glow sticks that can be combined into a necklace, or worn separately as bracelets. Everybody is encouraged to wear your best neon gear!

• Top (3) overall male, female and non-binary runners
• Top (3) male and female runners in each of the following age groups:
  12 & Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

POST RACE PARTY

Continue your celebration at our post-race party complete with complimentary food and one beer (21+ only) -or- one Kona Ice in the upper pavilion for registrants. Additional beer is available for purchase for runners and spectators.

BENEFICIARY

Harford Family House, a non-profit organization that is the largest provider of transitional housing for homeless families with children in Harford County. They are the only organization in Harford County capable of keeping an intact family together during the crisis of homelessness.

EVENT GUIDELINES

Please no strollers (due to the narrow nature of the trail), roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, or other pets allowed on the race course. For your safety we discourage the use of headphones. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your race number to another participant.
