We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local, or do not feel comfortable attending an in-person race at this time. Here's how the virtual race works:
1. Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications.
2. Your race swag will be mailed to you at no additional cost. Virtual race swag will be mailed starting on October 11th.
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the virtual race "starts" on October 8th, 2022.
4. Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by October 10th, 2022 at 11:59pm Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media.
5. Sit back and enjoy your accomplishment!
Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards, but we'll certainly be acknowledging the winners in our post-race communication.

COVID-19 Health Security Plan: Creating a safe experience at The HIghlands School 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk sponsored by Yorktowne Sports is our top priority!
Safety of participants, volunteers, sponsors and staff is of utmost importance to The Highlands School and Charm City Run. We are committed to following all local, state, national and CDC guidelines at The Highlands School 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk. Charm City Run (the race management company) was fortunate enough to safely hold this event and others in 2020 and 2021 and, thus, has developed efficient and effective race day COVID-19 protocols and procedures. While guidelines and health metrics continue to evolve, we are prepared with procedures that may include, but are not limited to: caps on participation consistent with outdoor gathering guidelines; contactless packet pickup; mandatory mask wearing for participants, volunteers and staff at all times (with the exception of when actively participating in the race); minimal spectators; social distancing and small group wave starts for participants; sanitizer stations throughout the event space; elimination of bag check and shirt exchanges; sealed grab-and-go water bottles at water stops; individually wrapped post-race snacks.
As the event draws closer, expect clear and continuous communication via email and website updates on the strategies we’ll use to keep everyone safe. Any questions? Please contact us at events@charmcityrun.com.
