"It is with great honor and way overdue to announce this year's Skate-A-Thon 2024 with The DC Wheels and Friends happening on Saturday August 31st, 2024 at 11am here in the Nation's Capitol.
We would like to honor the family of LEGEND Tim Achille., from Morristown New Jersey. Who grew up skating Philadelphia's Love Park.
It is so important that we all come together to support his wife Celina and  daughter Waylon.
Please give what you can in this trying time. Let's help relieve some of the financial  burden that a loss like this brings to a family.

Achille (pronounced A-sheel) was and will always be an incredible skateboarder. From his hometown of Morristown, New Jersey to skating Love Park since he was a  young kid.
Appearing in New Deal Skateboards world wide video, "7 year glitch". He also appeared in Philadelphia's skate video "Abstract" and was a guest on the talk show "Droppin' in".

Born on August 6th, 1979. He started skateboarding in 1992 in 7th grade. He found out about a skate birthday party and went boardless. Unbeknownst to him it would set him on his magic carpet ride from that moment on.
He mowed lawns and saved up money to by a Shut skateboards blank board from a neighborhood kid. It had riser pads and trucks with different hangers on it.
He would later on grow to what you have heard or seen in videos around the World.
With his amazing kickflip backside tailslides and nollie frontside 180 heelflip tailslides you knew who he was real fast.

Later on in life, Tim was a testicular cancer survivor and had a child with his Wife, Celina, despite the fact of doctors saying it was a 90% chance he would be sterile after the chemotherapy.
Their daughter's name is Waylon. She is 2 years old.

We are now ready to skate 47 miles, that's ten hours of pushing in one day, for this cause.
Please join us for fundraising and skating for this family,

Thanks and RIDE ON!

-The DC Wheels and Achille family"
