Join Alpha Alpha Lambda Omega Chapter for our inaugural Tutus and Ties 5K and Fun Run, for all those who celebrate community, unity, and running for a purpose. Grab a friend and join this fun event. Proceeds benefit AAΛΩ Programs of Service that support our service areas in Prince George County, MD that include Adelphi, Beltsville, Bladensburg, Cheverly, College Park, East Riverdale, Hyattsville, Langley Park, and Mount Rainier, Maryland.
PARTICIPATION
All paces and ages (under 18 with guardian) are welcome - run or walk! The Fun Run is an untimed, 1 mile. Runner’s times for the 5k will be available following completion of the race on Run SignUp. Timing services provided by Maryland Timing. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite tutu and/or tie (bowties count), through a serene run through the scenic town of Cheverly, MD. All participants receive a finisher medal, participant swag bag, and water/snacks.
LOCATION
We will start and finish outside the Cheverly Town Hall parking lot located at 6401 Forest Road, Cheverly, MD 20785. Our Fun Run will begin promptly at 8:15am, and our 5K will begin at 9:00am. Runners are asked to show up on time to the 5k to ensure accurate timing.
VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
Can’t join us in person for the 5K and still want to participate? Race with us virtually! To participate virtually, select the "Virtual 5K" option. You will have from September 9th at 6:00 am through September 15th at 11:59 pm to start, finish and log your time in RunSignUp.
TEAM SIGNUP
Teams sign-ups will automatically be entered into a team spirit contest and evaluated on outfit coordination and race day enthusiasm. Prize will be awarded to the winning team!
TEAM/GROUP RATES
Group of 5 or more:
- Fun Run: $18/person
- 5K: $30/person
Group of 10 or more:
- Fun Run: $15/person
- 5K: $25/person
**Discounts will be refunded to participants automatically once 5 or more have been registered under the team name.**
Tutus & Ties is a vital fundraising event that allows us to continue our mission of providing progressive service to the citizens of Northwestern Prince George’s County, an area of the county that benefits from the presence and impact of programs and services offered by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. Your generosity will directly impact our ability to continue making a positive impact in our community.

Platinum Sponsor: $1,000

- First Platinum sponsor will have opportunity to have banner posted at start/finish line
- All email correspondence to registrants and volunteers will contain "sponsored by" language with company name and logo
- Company logo to appear on race day t-shirt in prime location (must receive logo by 8/20/24)
