BikeAround Downtown Columbia Fall 2024

Despite what the title says, this is not a race. It's a chance to hop on your bike and enjoy a relaxing ride along the trails and pathways of Downtown Columbia, Oakland Mills, and Owen Brown. Start at Color Burst Park in Downtown Columbia, roll through Oakland Mills, explore Owen Brown, pass through Blandair Park, and then wind back to Color Burst Park. This just over seven mile course is perfect for the family or novice cyclists as well as those of you with more miles under your wheels. 
 
Join us as we celebrate our Fall 2024 BikeAround Downtown Columbia weekend with a Block Party on Saturday, September 21st in the Merriweather District from 9-12. You can ride the course to or from the Block Party, but it will be open and marked from Saturday the 21st at 9:00 AM until Sunday the 22nd at 6:00 PM. 

At the Block Party, The Downtown Columbia Partnership, the Howard County Office of Transportation, Bike HoCo, and more will be on hand to help you make cycling a bigger part of your transportation, fitness, and recreation routine. Register in advance and check-in on site to get your BikeAround shirt (limited quantities available on a first come first served basis).

Timing: There is no group start time for BikeAround. The official timing for the event is 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 21st to 6:00 PM on Sunday the 22nd. Please start as early or late as you like. And feel free to ride the course more than once.
 
The Course: The course starts and ends in Color Burst Park. Thanks to the Columbia Association’s Open Space team, the path will be marked so you should not need to refer to the turn-by-turn directions.
