Please join us for the 43rd Annual Mike Sterling 10k Race / 5k Walk / 10k Ruck to be held in Crisfield, MD during the annual National Hard Crab Derby. The race will begin and end at the Crisfield City Dock at the end of Rt. 413. Runners, walkers, and ruckers will enjoy a fast, flat course that meanders thru the City of Crisfield as well as the neighborhoods and along the waterfront outskirts. Water stops will be provided at three locations along our route.
THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE!!! NO REFUNDS AS ALL PROCEEDS GO TO SUPPORT THE CRISFIELD AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Prices increase from $25 to $35 on Monday, August 29, 2022 and to $40 on race day, September 3, 2022. Everyone who registers on or before August 28, 2022 will be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Packet pickup is Friday, September 2, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wellington Beach. Everyone who picks their packet up in advance of race day will be entered into the contest to win one of two pairs of running shoes donated by Vernon Powell Shoes.
We are trying to incentivize you to register by August 28 to get a t-shirt (and to save money) and to pick your packet up before the day of the race (by limiting the running shoe drawing to those persons whose packets were picked up before race day.)
The 10k ruck has a 20 pound weight. The 10k ruck has the same course as the 10k race, but starts at 7:00 a.m.
The 5k walk is a walk. It is not a run. If you would like to run, sign up for the 10k run. There is not a 5k run. To be eligible to win the walk, participants must walk. All walk entrants must sign a code of conduct promising not to run. Walking means that your rear foot does not leave the ground until the heel of your lead foot touches the ground. Officials will be on the course and will disqualify any walker seen running. The decision of race officials and the race directors is final.
