Description
This is a no frills, run on your own virtual 10K & 5K to help continue to support the charities we have supported over the last 16 years. It only costs $15… see below for more info:
Under normal circumstances, this would have been our 17th Annual Ellicott City Labor Day 10K & 5K on Sept. 5th, but this is not a normal year. As many of you know, we have organized these races over the last 16 years to provide the community with a well-run event at a beautiful setting at the Shrine of St. Anthony. It’s been a great run for us and the level of support between community participation, sponsors, volunteers (including organizations like the Columbia Amateur Radio Association - CARA), the county and police support has been tremendous. This has allowed us to give away over $77,000 to worthy charitable organizations and for that we are grateful.
This year, we have decided it is best to not have an in-person race. However, we want to put on a virtual race so that we can continue to raise funds for the charitable causes we have supported over the years. We are asking that you support us by running a 10k or 5k on your own and post your results or picture on our Facebook page.
We would also suggest, especially for those that have run our race many times, to run the exact course at the Shrine. You know the course (also on our Facebook page) and the Shrine is open to the public. So go ahead and run the race on your own or with a friend any day you choose. Just know that there would be no support from our organization, the Shrine, police, CARA, etc.
We are billing this, as stated above, as a no-frills virtual run. Please consider helping us help those charities that need the help.
Thanks again for all your support over the years…
