Description
The Divine 9 Cheverly 5K is a community run/walk event celebrating and bringing together members of the Divine Nine—the nine historically Black Greek-letter organizations that make up the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). Founded on May 10, 1930, the NPHC was established to promote unity and cooperative action among its member organizations, all committed to scholarship, service, leadership, and civic engagement.
This year’s Divine 9 Cheverly 5K will be held on May 10th to honor the NPHC’s founding. Open to Divine Nine members, their families, friends, and community supporters, the event offers more than just a race. Participants can enjoy music, vendors, step shows, and post-race celebrations, creating a day of fellowship and fun.
Proceeds from the registration fee help cover event costs, with remaining funds supporting the First Annual Mayor’s Scholarship, which will provide educational opportunities for local students. More than just a run, the Divine 9 Cheverly 5K embodies the spirit of service, unity, and lasting community impact.
