Here is how it works:

1. Register online for the Charm City Run 5K at Boordy Vineyards.
2. Receive a unique referral link via your confirmation page and email.
3. Share this link with your friends, family or post on social media.
4. After 5 registrants sign up using your unique referral link you will automatically receive a refund of your registration fee.

VIRTUAL RACE INFORMATION

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are unable to attend the in-person race. Here's how the virtual race works:

1. Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications
2. Your race swag will be available for pickup at our pre race packet pickups, or can be mailed to you at no additional cost. We will begin mailing virtual packets on August 13th.
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the race "starts" on August 10th.
4. Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by August 11th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media with the hashtags #charmcityrun and #boordy5k
5. Sit back and enjoy your swag!

ARRIVAL

Please plan to arrive at Boordy Vineyards prior to 5:30PM as the roads leading into the Vineyard will be closed to guarantee all traffic is off the course prior to the start of the race. The following roads will be closed at 5:30PM and will re-open no sooner than 7 PM:

• Long Green Road between Kanes Road and Long Green Pike
• Long Green Pike between Long Green Road and Hydes Road

Please encourage your friends and family to bring along a picnic and join the festivities! NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. Only wine purchased at the vineyard will be permitted on the premises.

AMENITIES

Participants in the Charm City Run 5K at Boordy Vineyards receive the following:

1. Cotton/Poly blend race shirt
2. Souvenir glass of wine for participants 21 and over (other non-alcoholic beverages available) 
3. Post-race snacks
4. Access to the post-race party with live music, food vendors, and additional wine offerings for sale

AWARDS 

Awards will be given to the top three males, females, non-binary finishers overall.

Awards will also be given to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 20 & under, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

COURSE

The out-and-back 5K starts and ends on the vineyard property and covers varying terrain including grass, gravel and road. Runners pass through a grassy stretch of the vineyard at the beginning and end of the race, with the majority of the race on paved road. Strollers are not permitted.

BENEFICIARY

The Long Green Land Trust is a group comprised of local residents who share a common concern for land preservation and quality of life. Several hundred neighbors in and about the Valley comprise the LGLT membership. The Land Trust seeks to help property owners large and small understand the financial and personal benefits that accompany land preservation.

EVENT GUIDELINES

Please no baby joggers, strollers, roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, or other pets allowed on the race course. For your safety we discourage the use of headphones. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your race number to another participant.

We want to be completely transparent with our policies regarding refunds, deferrals, and cancellations. If you are interested in signing up for this race please read this section carefully prior to registering. All interested participants will be shown these policies during the registration process and must agree to adhere to them in order to be admitted to the event.

Refunds

Race registration fees (and the processing charge from RunSignup) are not refundable. These funds are used to pay for race premiums, permits, supplies, staffing, and other costs incurred before, during, and after the event is held. To be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy.

Deferrals

We offer the option for registrants to defer their entry to the following year's event based on Charm City Run's General Deferral fee schedule:

Until July 28, 2024 (2 weeks prior to race day) - $15.00
July 29, 2024 - August 10, 2024 (within 2 weeks of race day) - $30.00. 

Registrants may defer their entry by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Transfers

We offer the option for registrants to transfer their entry to another eligible participant up to August 10, 2024. After this deadline passes we are unable to allow transfers as race materials have been prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may transfer their entry to another registrant by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Cancellation

2020 showed just how unpredictable our world can be, and the running industry was certainly no exception. We know that it's important to have as much information at your disposal when making a decision whether to sign up for a race or not, and we want you to know exactly what your options will be should the 2024 in-person race not be able to take place as originally planned. Our regular cancellation policy found here covers scenarios that could prompt the cancellation of an event including weather, local emergencies, public health emergencies, etc. If you have any questions about our cancellation policy please email us at events@charmcityrun.com PRIOR to registering.
