WHAT IS ERG RACING?
RIVAL ERG is a high-intensity, solo performance-based fitness competition designed to push competitors to their limits. Participants will rotate through three powerful disciplines: Ski Erg, Echo Bike and Row Erg (with a 2 min transition between stations). The mission is to cover the greatest total distance across all three machines, where every meter and every second counts. Whether you're competing against others or challenging yourself, RIVAL is the ultimate 60-minute test of strength, stamina, and willpower.
Participants will be assigned a start wave and notified a few days prior to event day. Waves will start every 22 minutes. Each participant is assigned one lane for the duration of their event. Each lane will consist of three machines in order of Ski Erg, Echo Bike and Row Erg. The competition comprises of a 60 minute total workout period. Participants will complete 20 minutes on each machine in the following order with a 2 minute transition time between machines.
20 minutes on the Ski Erg
2 min transition
20 minutes on the Echo Bike
2 min transition
20 minutes on the Row Erg
Heat 1 starts on the Ski Erg. After completion of the workout period, Heat 1 will transition during the 2 minutes rest to the Echo Bike and Heat 2 starts behind them. After completion of the 2nd workout period, Heat 1 moves to the Row Erg and Heat 2 moves to the Echo Bike and Heat 3 takes up position on the Ski Erg and so on for the duration of the event with each Heat transitioning forward within their lane after each workout period. Each Heat ends after 20 min completion of the rower.
Your total distance (meters) across all three machines is your score — but the real win is showing up, giving it your all, and sharing the grind with the community.
Awards will be given to the top 5 competitors in the following divisions.
Overall Male
Overall Female
How does a Team work?
Participants may elect to compete as a team (2 people). Teams can be same gender or mixed gender.
Both teammates will share each of the three 20-minute portions of the event. Only one teammate may be working at a time, while the other teammate rests, recovers and gets ready to jump back in. Teams may switch athletes as often as they want, allowing each team to create its own strategy for tackling the 60-minute challenge.
Once the 20-minute period ends, both teammates move together to the next station and continue the same format. After completing all three stations, the distances accumulated by the team on the SkiErg + Echo Bike + RowErg are combined to determine the team's final score.
