Oriole Advocates' Home Run has been cancelled.
We regret to inform you that the Oriole Advocates’ Home Run has been cancelled. We were looking forward to bringing back this event and expanding our reach with a virtual event. However, we have not attracted enough participants to make this a successful fund raiser or a competitive event.
Thank you to those who signed up to participate in the Oriole Advocates’ Home Run. We will be issuing refunds to those who have registered over the next couple weeks.
Despite having to cancel this race, we plan to host a similar event in the Spring 2022 tied to Opening Day as we did with past races.
Finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Charm City Run for organizing this event and the renewed partnership with the Oriole Advocates.
Description
The Oriole Advocates’ Charitable Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce the return of the Oriole Advocates’ Home Run as a virtual event. The Oriole Advocates hosted races annually from the late 80s through 2008 for fields of runners from 400 to over 1,000 athletes. The races were tied to Opening Day and were highlighted by finishes inside the ballpark. One of the more notable races began in Memorial Stadium and finished inside Camden Yards in its inaugural year.
COVID-19 has introduced alternatives to the way we do things. One of these are Virtual athletic competitions which allow athlete to compete and support organization but in a safe manner and on an individual basis. The Oriole Advocates Home Run will be open from Saturday, October 16 through Sunday, October 31st, 2021 and is being handled by Charm City Run Events. .

$30 thereafter
All registrants will receive a race-themed long sleeve t-shirt!
There are no refunds of entry given for this event.
PACKET PICKUP
You have the option to pick up your race shirt at the pickup session below. You will also have the option during registration to choose to have your race materials mailed to you.

HOW DOES A VIRTUAL RACE WORK?
If you’ve participated in a virtual race at any time in 2020 you know the drill, but if not, it’s easy!
Sign Up to Participate
First step is registering and making it official! Click register now at the top of this page to sign up. During registration you can also opt-in to report your race results via text or email (we’ll explain more below).
Print Your Digital Bib
We will be creating a "unique" race themed Digital Bib that you will be able to download and print and/or share on social media. Keep an eye out for pre-race email that will give instructions on how to access your "digital bib".
Run Your Race
You can run or walk your 5K (3.1 miles) or 1 Miler anytime between October 16th and October 31st (11:59PM ET). You can run anywhere you like - your neighborhood, your favorite trail, your treadmill, or your local city park.
Submit Results
After you run or walk your race you can submit their results through text or email (if opted in during the registration process), or directly on the runsignup.com results page. If you have questions about submitting results don't hesitate to reach out to us at events@charmcityrun.com. Results automatically update as times are submitted, so you can check the results to see how you stack up against the competition.

If you don’t take a picture did it even happen? We’d love to see your pre- and post-race pictures! You can post them during the result reporting process or directly to the RunSignup photo page.
AWARDS
We will be offering awards to the top three male and female finishers overall as well as the top male and female in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
BENEFICIARY
Proceeds from the Home Run will benefit the Oriole Advocates’ Charitable Foundation, Inc. a 501 (c) (3) corporation which supports organizations both domestic and abroad who promote baseball at all levels for individuals of all abilities.
