Race weekend is approaching! We try to respond to all emails, but as race day approaches, our focus switches to race day preparation, so please review this email before sending us an email with a question. We have tried to answer all your questions here.
- Packet Pickup:
The fastest way to check in at packet pickup is to have the QR code ready that you received in your confirmation email. Can't find your confirmation email? Log in to your RunSignUp account, click "My Registrations," scroll down to the Four Courts Four Miler, and click "Resend Confirmation Email." Your QR code will be towards the bottom of that email.
You may pick up someone else's packet, but we ask that you make every effort to do so prior to race morning. To make check in easier, please have their confirmation email QR code.
We strongly encourage you to pick up of your packet on Thursday or Friday for the best selection of sweatshirt sizes. Everyone is welcome to come out to our DC Road Runners Happy Hour for packet pickup. We'll have some light bites available as well.

- DCRR Happy Hour, Thursday, October 1, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Four Courts, 2501 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201 (When you enter Four Courts, go straight past the bar and then turn left. There is private room where we'll have packet pickup. The host will also be able to direct you.)
- PR Run Walk in Ballston, Friday, October 2, 5 p.m.-7 p.m., 4238 Wilson Blvd, Ste. 1235, Arlington, VA 22203
- Race Day Morning, October 3, opens at 6 a.m.
- Race Swag: All runners receive our race hoodie! Please note, if you wait until race morning, your color sweatshirt may be different than the navy shown below. Also, while we tried to order XS, we were only able to order smalls. We cannot mail sweatshirts to runners.
- Registration will remain open through the end of packet pickup on Friday, October 2.
- Reminder: the minimum race pace is 15 minutes per mile.

Race start: Please plan to arrive early. The start closes 15 minutes after each race. No one will be permitted to start the 20 Miler after 7:15 a.m. and no one can start the 5 Miler after 7:35 a.m.

Location of race: Carderock Recreation Area, Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Towpath, Potomac, MD 20854. Every year people ask if the race location has a specific address; the answer is no, but the Park Service does provide detailed information and GPS coordinates. When you enter, do not go to the pavilion. Rather, after going under the canal, turn right. The race start is at the farthest parking lot. Park in any of lots. (There are 3.) The earlier you arrive, the closer you will park to the start line.
- Restrooms: The restrooms at the park are closed for renovation, but there is a porta potty. There are also bathrooms on the race course at Fletcher's Cove.
- Bag Drop: While we don't have formal bag drop, you may leave items by the registration table, which will have someone there throughout the race. We suggest you don't leave valuables.
- Transfers: While our race has a no refund policy, we do allow transfers. You may transfer from the 20-Miler to the 5-Miler at no cost through RunSignUp. (If you transfer from the 5-Miler to the 20-Miler, you will pay the difference in registration price). You may also transfer your entry to another person at no cost through RunSignUp. Transfers must be completed by the close of packet pickup on Friday. Please complete transfer prior to picking up your bib. We do not offer deferrals.
