Slack and Field 2017

This year will be our 7th annual event and includes a cross country course for the 5K race and the ever-popular straight, flat Kids 1K Fun Run!  Run by the water and through the woods at Slack Winery at Woodlawn Farm, a beautiful, historic farm in Ridge, MD.  In keeping with our mission of education, a self-advocate speaker will address the crowd following the race.  After the speaker, stay and play....there will be a 1K Fun Run down the drive, followed by lawn games, food, wine and music!  It is a great event for a great cause - proceeds from the event go to See the Ability, a non-profit working on education and employment initiatives for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community

RACE DAY DETAILS
​​10:00 AM - Woodlawn opens for parking and check-in
Registrants for the 5K and Kids 1K will need to check in at this time
Parking will be available along Woodlawn Lane
10:55 - 5K Runners/Walkers need to be at the start line!
11:00 - 12:00 - 5K Race Event
12:00 - Self-Advocate Presentation
12:05 - 12:30 - Self-Advocate Presentation
12:30 - 1:00 - Kids 1K Fun Run
1:00 - 4:00 - Post-Race Party!
Water and gatorade will be available for all race participants.
Spectators and Race Participants (21+) will have the opportunity to taste some of the fabulous wine from Slack Winery at the Wine shop!
There will be food available for purchase from Lotus Kitchen in the main house.
All event attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscape, music, and field games at Woodlawn in the afternoon.
