Join us for our 2nd Annual Talbot Goes Purple FREE 5K Fun Run as part of our FREE Fun Run Series at TriCycle and Run in St. Michaels. This event is dedicated to support the Talbot Goes Purple initiative as we pledge to do our part to help combat the opioid epidemic in our community.
Talbot Goes Purple is a substance abuse awareness program that will engage our community and youth to stand against substance abuse. Talbot Goes Purple is an initiative from Talbot County Sheriff’s Office and Tidewater Rotary, in partnership with Talbot County Public Schools and Mid-Shore Community Foundation.
In keeping with our FREE events, we do not ask for monetary donations, but rather encourage all participants to bring an item to donate to help create 'blessing bags' that will be provided to those individuals currently struggling with substance abuse in our community. Items to consider include:
-Chapstick
-Facial Wipes
-Moisturizer
-Comb
-Toothbrush
-Toothpaste
-Q-Tips
-Multipurpose Wipes
-Compact First Aid Kit
-EmergenC Packets (when people start to feel sick)
-Hand Warmers
-Warm Socks
-Prepaid Phone Cards
