For the past six years, Keep Punching has hosted our Keep Punching 5k and 1 Mile Walk in Towson, MD to bring awareness and raise funds for patients with brain cancer, their families, healthcare providers, and researchers. Each year our Keep Punching community comes together to walk or run with the goal of knocking brain cancer out for the count!
Due to the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to transition our annual event to a virtual walk/run with the safety and comfort of our participants in mind. We will have events throughout the week that will include: running with a live DJ, online raffles, social media challenges, and more! Our hope is that you can have the same fun and meaningful experience, from the comfort and safety of your own homes. More details to follow in upcoming emails and social media postings.
Keep Punching is a 100% volunteered-based organization that supports healthcare providers and researchers in their fight to prevent and eradicate brain cancer and minimize treatment-related side effects that may impact function and comfort. Funds raised through this event assist patients with brain cancer and their families; providers who are pursuing integrative approaches to healing; and researchers who are investigating traditional and complementary cancer-related therapies. We are looking forward to continuing these efforts and coming together virtually in honor and in memory of those impacted by brain cancer. Our virtual race will still allow for fundraising efforts and we encourage our participants and teams to continue to share your stories and inspire each other through your amazing bravery and efforts. We will be offering fundraising incentives, event prizes, and methods to allow runners and walkers to track their steps and time. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and for making this race so special and impactful every year. We will share more details with registrants as we continue to plan for this year’s virtual event.
