This year's Rosaryville Half Marathon and 10K trail running race is planned to be a hybrid event...meaning we will have both an in-person event and a virtual event. The in-person race is scheduled for Sunday September 6, 2020 and the virtual race occurs any time between August 22, 2020 and September 13, 2020. The race is approved to happen by PG County and the state.
The in-person event is currently sold out and we have a waitlist in place. The in-person race has a cap of 300 runners. Check-in times are staggered between 7am and 10am. Find your check-in time.
The virtual event allows you flexibility on when and where to run the race. You can run any time between August 22, 2020 and September 13, 2020. You can run the virtual race at a park near your home, on a treadmill, or even at Rosaryville State Park itself (just not on the in-person race morning)!
Our charity partner for this event is the Capital Area Food Bank. If you are able, please consider making a donation to this amazing organization during registration.
Our social distancing plan has been approved by the PG County Health Department as well as MD DNR. A summary of our precautions are below.
All runners (both in-person and virtual) receive the sweet swag items listed below!

Conveniently located right off the Capital Beltway, Rosaryville State Park in Upper Marlboro, MD offers a beautiful setting and an amazing trail system. Not overly technical in nature, the race courses are mostly singletrack and wind through beautiful forest and open fields. While there are no extended climbs, there are many short rolling ups and downs. The race courses at Rosaryville are suitable for seasoned trail runners and beginners alike.
Note: if you are participating virtually, then you are not required to run your race at Rosaryville State Park. See the FAQs page for more information.
Aid Station Note: 2020 course will only have the following aid stations: HM @ mile ~5.7 and ~9.8; 10K @ mile ~4.
The half marathon course includes the entire 9 mile perimeter trail, the 2 mile interior trail, and some short sections of wide open horse trails. The elevation change is roughly +/- 1,000 feet.
The 10K course includes 5 miles of the perimeter trail and just over one mile of wide open horse trails. The elevation change is roughly +/- 500 feet.
Invite your friends and family to participate in the race and create a team. Creating a team is super easy either during registration or after you have already registered. Please note that all team members are required to register and run the full distance of their race (HM or 10K). See our FAQs for more info on teams.
We will have a virtual awards ceremony on Sunday September 13th for both the in-person and virtual race. Additional information will be emailed to all registered racers.
