The Capital Area Food Bank leads our region’s efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Each year, they source and distribute food for more than 50 million meals. They partner with farmers, wholesalers, restaurants, and community members to get food to the individuals and families who need it most. Please bring a non-perishable item to the in-person 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Watkins Regional Park.

Dr. Amanda Patterson, MD, widely recognized as “The Live Well Doc,” is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and wellness advocate on a mission to help people live their most abundant lives — in mind, body, spirit, and community.

A proud Southside Chicago native, Dr. Amanda graduated summa cum laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology before earning her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where her passion for whole-person, compassionate care truly flourished.

Dr. Amanda brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, innovation, and inspiration to her work. At the forefront of virtual healthcare, she leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver accessible, patient-centered care that meets people where they are.
