Sugarloaf Uphill Climb

Maine’s toughest mountain run, the Sugarloaf Uphill Climb, returns on Sunday, October 8th. 

Starting at the bottom of the SuperQuad, the grueling three-mile course takes runners up nearly 2,500 feet of vertical to the top of Maine’s second-highest peak. The race course follows the Binder trail and work road to the resort’s 4,237’ summit. 

Mandatory bib pickup will take place from 7:30am to 9:30am on The Beach. The race will begin at 10am with a mass start. 

Following the race, racers will descend down the mountain to the Comp. center where lunch and cold beverages will be served. All racers will receive a commemorative gift, lunch, and complimentary beer (21-plus only). Awards will be presented in the Comp. Center as soon as results are in for all age categories.

Spectators are welcome to walk up the course or ride the lift to spectate at any point along the racecourse. Spectators also are invited to the awards ceremony in the Comp. Center, where snacks and beverages will be available to purchase. 

This race will occur rain or shine, and it is not uncommon to encounter snow at the summit of the mountain, so bring plenty of extra layers. Trucks will be provided to transport racer bags from the start line to the finish and will depart 15 minutes prior to the start of the race. There will not be transportation provided for runners on the way down; please plan to hike down afterwards.  

Registration

Purchase tickets early for the best deals. Day of registration will not be an option this year. Please be sure to register online! 

$50 until September 23rd. Price increases to $60 until registration closes on October 6th, or sooner if the race fills up. 

All runners will receive a complimentary lunch on the Beach.

Bib Pick-up

Sunday morning 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM on the Beach. Racers will not be able to pick up a bib after 9:30 AM on race day.

Timing Results 

Timing results will be live on Allsport Timing, as well as posted here on the registration page and on Facebook. 

Awards

Celebrate your accomplishments with a complimentary beverage and lunch on the Beach. Awards will be presented in the Comp. Center as soon as results are in for all age categories.
