Description

The 4th of July is here and it's time to get back out there! Join us for the Liberty 5k on the trails at Pineland Farms! This trail race will mark the return of LIVE racing in Maine.

Because of the restrictions still in place, this one will be a little different so we hope you'll bear with us. At the time of this event, we cannot have gatherings larger than 50 people. With that in mind, here is how the event will be structured to ensure a smooth, safe, enjoyable morning:

  • No day-of, on-site registrations. Participants MUST register online prior to race day.
  • Practice social distancing whenever possible. We will not require masks, but we do recommend a mask or buff while waiting for your race to start.
  • Please arrive as close to your start time as possible and MUST leave the venue shortly after you complete your race.
  • Unfortunately, no spectators or support people will be allowed. With only 50 people allowed on site, we want as many of those people as possible to be event participants.
  • Waves of no more than 40 runners leaving every 30 minutes. While we can have 50 people total, we need to account for race staff in addition to runners.
  • "Wave start" with a net finish time for scoring. You must be in the start corral when your wave starts, NO LATE STARTS. No need to stand elbow to elbow at the start, there is ample opportunity for spacing at the start and on the course
  • Prizes will be awarded to our overall winners although we will not have an awards ceremony. All participants will receive a custom race medal! Live results will be posted online as they happen. They can be viewed from your smartphone within minutes of completing your race.
  • We will supply 2 portable restrooms and a handwashing station for this event. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the race venue.
  • Due to the possible spread of COVID-19 we will NOT provide water stations. Please plan accordingly.

The race will take place on the Oak Hill trail system at Pineland Farms. Clear signage will be in place to direct participants to the start/finish and packet pickup area.

While this will be very different from your usual 5k, we expect to have a fun, challenging race that gives everybody a taste of life as we all remember it and expect to return to. Together we will celebrate our freedoms on America's birthday!
