Description
The 2014 SMCC Foundation Race for the Future is a celebration of our graduating SMCC students, our returning alumni, and our College community. All proceeds go directly to the SMCC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises money to support SMCC students and programs.
Donations Welcome
The race is for all ages and running abilities. We welcome runners from the College community and others who want to particpate and support SMCC. The race will take place on a scenic waterfront course at SMCC.
We are encouraging friendly competition between SMCC academic departments by calling on participants (current students, alumni, faculty and staff) to run in attire that symbolizes their academic department. For example, culinary runners could wear chef’s hats and aprons, and marine biology runners could run wearing snorkels and masks. A prize (and bragging rights) will be given to the department with the most participation. Be creative!
Awards will also be given to the fastest man and woman in each age category.
The fastest male and female student who are returning to SMCC in the fall will each receive a $100 scholarship toward their SMCC tuition.
