Despite the Odds, The Superheroes Return!
As much as we love gathering our Superheroes together, the villainous COVID-19 virus has foiled our original plan to gather. In accordance with CDC guidelines and our partners, we were not able to host our event on June 6, at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, ME.
But, don't put your capes and masks away just yet Superheroes! Don’t despair friends. Be "apart" of something new this year! As our Superheroes are virtually everywhere, we are holding a virtual event. Join us as we celebrate our state-wide digital community of Superheroes ready to meet their call to action for individuals with special needs and super abilities. We are hoping more Superheroes than event will be able to participate. Invite a friend to join in the fun!
Proceeds from this year’s event will offset the unexpected COVID-19 related costs of providing needed programs and services to children, youth and adults, while keeping these consumers and their families and our employees safe.
Where & When
Anywhere in the world, any time of day or night starting Friday, July 17, 8 a.m., through Sunday, July 19 at 3 p.m. Choose your event, your course, and the time of day to get involved. Although we will be running or walking alone or in small groups in our own communities, are Superheroes really ever alone? No, they are just 6’ or one Bat Signal away from each other.

A commemorative 2020 Superhero 5k Ribbon for every participant. And, a car magnet for each household to trick out their own Bat mobile. Giveaways will be sent to your Bat Cave after the event.

Why Participate or Donate?
Today, 1 in 59 kids is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD is a developmental disability that can cause social, communication and behavioral challenges. People with ASD may communicate, interact, behave and learn in ways that are different from other people. Transitions and/or breaks in routine can be stressful for people with ASD in the best of times. During the past few months, social distancing and mask protocols, school cancellations, changes in receiving needed services, and many other things have been extra challenging. Everyone can be a hero in some way to people with disabilities.
