Event Description
Join us for the first annual 5K walk/run race in partnership with the the Dental Navigator program and Special Care Dentistry Association at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
This event aims to raise awareness about the importance of providing compassionate, accessible dental care for individuals who face significant barriers to treatment. From patients with complex medical needs to those navigating financial, physical, or systemic challenges, both organizations are committed to ensuring that every patient has a pathway to the care they deserve. Proceeds go toward the Dental Navigator program
All students, faculty, staff, and supporters are welcome.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What time does the race start?
The race will begin at 8:45AM. We recommend arriving 30 minutes early for check-in and warm-up.
Where is check-in/packet pickup?
Check-in will be located at the Medford Lot Pavilion and will open at 8:00AM. Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation (digital is fine).
Where should I park?
The closest parking is available in the lot off Medford Road at County Farm Park.
Is the course timed?
We will have a timer at the start/finish line, but we will not be using chip timing.
Can I walk the 5K?
Yes! Walkers are welcome and encouraged to participate.
What happens if it rains?
The event will take place rain or shine unless conditions become unsafe (e.g., severe weather). Updates will be sent via email if needed.
What does my registration include?
Registration includes a T-shirt!
Can I get a refund?
All registration fees are non-refundable, but we appreciate your support of the Dental Navigator Program
What is the purpose of this race?
This race is held to support The Dental Navigator program, an inter-professional team of faculty, students and staff at U-M School of Dentistry and the School of Social Work working together to try to solve access to oral care issues for adults.

Will there be water stations?
Yes! There will be a water station about 0.5 miles into the course and at the end of the loop (1.55 miles into the course).
