KAR in Battle Creek - Beyond Half Marathon Training Program

Thinking about training for your first half marathon and looking for a comprehensive training program? Completed one or more half marathons and looking for that next dimension in your training? Kalamazoo Area Runners (KAR) in Battle Creek is pleased to introduce an out of this world half marathon training program designed to help you achieve your goals! The 2020 Beyond Half Marathon Training Program runs April 4 through June  27, 2020 and will target the Battle Creek Half Marathon, on July 4, 2020.  Place the launch date on your calendar.

Program includes:

*Organized and supported Saturday morning runs held on a variety of courses in Battle Creek (the majority of runs begin at the Battle Creek YMCA).

*****From April 4, 2020, through May 16, 2020, run discussion begins promptly at 7:30 am, with step-off at 7:45 am.   From May 23, 2020, through June 27, 2020, run discussion begins promptly at 7 am, with step-off at 7:15 am.

*Low, moderate and high-intensity training schedules listing daily workouts.

*Hydration (water, electrolyte beverages, and snacks) provided on the course.

*Weekly email and blog site communications with training tips, schedules, half marathon news and more

*Supportive and encouraging Team Leaders with pace groups ranging from 8:00 min/miles and faster to 12-minute miles and slower

*Informative Clinic Night on April 23, 2020, from 5:45-8pm, at Harper Creek High School, offering 8-10 running related topics (attendees select up to 4 topics)

*Information Night and Blast Off On Thursday, March 26, 2020, from 5:30-7:30 at Biggby on Beckley.

*A FUN spring half marathon training experience with shared camaraderie and team spirit.

*Optional Beyond Half Marathon Training Program short-sleeve technical shirts available for an additional $20. Available until April 11, 2020.

*Register between now and April 7, 2020,  the cost is $45

*Register after April 8, 2020, the cost is $55
