Description

This is a good old fashion cross country meet on a 5K course marked by mother nature (and a few signs so you don’t get lost). Your team of 5 (yes, cross country is a team sport) will compete on a two loop course with grass, dirt, and gravel. Never been on a course country team…no worries, we will get you all the information you need to know! See the information below for the different award categories and get your team together!

2014 Award Categories:

Overall male winner: $25 gift card to Gazelle Sports
Overall female winner: $25 gift card to Gazelle Sports
Middle of the pack award (the person who finishes in the middle of field): $25 gift card to Gazelle Sports
Top Female team (5 Female Runners): $20 gift cards to Gazelle Sports for all team members
Top Male team (5 Male Runners): $20 gift cards to Gazelle Sports for all team members
Top Co-ed team (must consist of 3 Female Runners): $20 gift cards to Gazelle Sports for all team members
Top Open division team (any combination of 4 Runners): $20 gift cards to Gazelle Sports for all team members

Most Spirit team: $20 gift cards to Gazelle Sports for all team members
Top Age-Adjusted team (the sum of the ages from all participants will be subtracted from the over all team score): $20 gift cards to Gazelle Sports for all team members
High school & college teams will receive special awards.
Scoring:
Here is how cross country scoring works. A team will consists of five runners, points are awarded to the individual runners of eligible teams, equal to the position in which they cross the finish line (first place gets 1 point, second place gets 2 points, etc.). The points for these runners are summed, and the low score wins. All of the runners start at the same time.
