8th Annual RACERS Superhero 5K

SWMI RACERS and Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan volunteer leaders have made the difficult decision to cancel the 8th Annual Superhero 5K that was to be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021. 

A bridge on the original 5K route requires repair and is not safe for runners not familiar with the holes. A new route was created but it has multiple street crossings which require additional volunteers to maintain safety for participants. Neither route was closed to traffic.

With the increase of COVID-19 cases, it has been difficult to secure enough volunteers to support the route and the event as a whole. Holding events that are safe for our participants, while also being a fun experience, are important goals for us. 

The refund process has begun, including refunds to those who requested refunds when the race was postponed from August.

Some participants made donations to Animal Aid of Southwest Michigan as part of their registration. Please let us know if you would like to:
1) Donate part or all of your registration/donation to Animal Aid, or
2) Receive a complete refund
