Event Description
The MeCeola Children's Council - Annual Family 5K Run/Walk is returning to in-person on Saturday, April 29th at Northend Park in Big Rapids, MI. The Family 5K run/walk is one of many events scheduled in April in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness, Month of the Young Child, and Blue Sunday. The 5K run/walk give families the opportunity to run or walk 3.1 miles through the beautiful White Pine Trails. It is an event the whole family can enjoy with a leisure walk or run while having fun and winning prizes. Participants can also challenge themselves to complete another 5K run or accomplish a goal to run/walk a 5K for the first time. Families and children can enjoy the beautiful outdoors and fun activities near the park. Bring the whole family and 'Wear Blue' for a morning at Northend Park.
Registration & Pricing
Participants can pre-register for the event or register the day of the event
Family of four (4) or less - $5/each person (Price not to exceed $20 per Family)
Five (5) or more - FREE (Any family registering more than four people, the 5th & 6th person is free, etc)
Participants are encouraged to 'wear blue' for the event; and you have an opportunity to win cool door prizes.
The 5K run begins at 10:00 am, the 5K wellness walk starts at 10:15am and the race course will close at Noon.

Refund Policy
No refunds provided for any reason; including prior injury, illness, or schedule conflicts. The event will continue if it rains, but if hazardous weather condition hinders participant or volunteer safety, the event will be rescheduled or cancelled. If the event is cancelled, registration fees will not be refunded but applied to a rescheduled date. Cancellation or delay announcements will be published on the Children's Council Facebook 5K event page.

Course Maps & Information
* The course starts and finishes at Northend Riverside Park
* The White Pine Trails will be remain open to the public; you may encounter strollers, animals, bicycles, roller blades, and skateboards on the race course.
* Dogs are permitted on the trail; but walkers (with dogs) are encouraged to start in the far back. We recommend that dogs wear a muzzle guard to avoid accidents.
Event Parking
Free parking for the 5K event is held at Northend parking lot. There will be signs as you enter the premises directing you to the event parking area.
