Byron Center Adventure Race

Description

In an exciting timed event, teams of two to four 8- through 14-year-olds will find checkpoints and solve challenges in various locations within the approximately 80 acre Byron Township Whistlestop Park. Checkpoints will be marked with colored flags Challenges will include age-appropriate physical and mental trials which require teamwork. Racers will compete with those of similar ages to win prizes. All Racers will receive a high-performance (wicking) tee shirt, a Finishers' Gift, and other gifts. The first three place teams in both Divisions will also receive medals honoring their performance.

Registration Fee: $10 (Late Registration Fee after September 3, 2019 - $15)

Participants: The Division in which a Team will compete is based upon the age of the oldest Team Member on September 21, 2019; the Divisional ages and schedule are shown below:

White Division: Ages 11 through 14
Check-In Opens: 7:30 AM
Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting: 7:50 AM
Division Race Start Time: 8:10 AM

Division Race End Time: 9:00 AM (50-Minute Duration)

Blue Division: Ages 8 through 10
Check-In Opens: 7:45 AM
Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting: 8:10 AM
Division Race Start Time: 8:30 AM

Division Race End Time: 9:30 AM (60-Minute Duration)

Registration Notes:

To GUARANTEE SHIRT SIZE, sign up on-line by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
On-Line Registration is open until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
Late Registration will be held during Packet Pickup

Packet Pick-Up: Packet Pick-Up will take place on Friday, September 20, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:30 PM in the Lake Michigan Credit Union branch at 904 84th Street, SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Late Packet Pick-Up will be held from 7:30 to 8:00 AM on Race Day (Sept. 21) at the Race Check-In point.

Place

Byron Township Community Center and Whistle Stop Park, 2120 76th St., SW. Participants can check in at the Racer Check-In location near the Park Pavilion.

Inclement Weather

On Saturday, September 21, 2019 the Race may be postponed for no more than 30 minutes at the discretion of the Race Director in case of rain or other inclement weather. The Race will be cancelled in case of longer weather delays, lightning or severe weather, and will not be rescheduled; Racers and guests will be sheltered-in-place within the Community Center building.
