Cal Crusher 2024

Get ready for another CAL CRUSHER 2024 - ENDURANCE RUN!! Come on out and crush as many miles as you can in 30 hours. Just so we are on the same page...this is a FUN RUN.

This year, our run will be supporting Hope Unexpected. Hope Unexpected has been actively serving and supporting single women dealing with unplanned pregnancies since 2012. The mission of Hope Unexpected is to nurture, empower and equip single moms by demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ. Women come to Hope Unexpected to experience intentional hospitable community, compassionate and professional mental health support, biblical spiritual guidance and necessary tangible support. Their programs include weekly Monday Meets, free licensed counseling (individual and group), life skills classes, mentor support and a car care program. Moms receive free diapers and wipes in addition to a gas card on a weekly basis. Children receive intentional and biblical programming taught by certified teachers.

Hope Unexpected has two locations: Byron Center and Grand Rapids. They currently serve over 50 moms and 90 children. Being a single mom doesn’t have to be the lonely journey many women find themselves facing.  They are dedicated to helping bridge the gap and offering support to make success and self-sufficiency possible!

Hope Unexpected is supported by private donations, volunteers, part time staff, and a board of volunteers who all care about the single women and children in our community. Navigating single motherhood is not easy, but with your help, you can change the trajectory of a life and help make success a reality for single moms and their families.

Like last year, run/walk all your miles at once, or run - go home and sleep - come back and run some more, or for those that have never run through the night and want to just see what it's like, make it a midnight run adventure. It's all up to you!! Again, you will have 30 hours to crush as many miles as you can. Awards will be given out for the male and female who crush the most miles in 30 hours. Miles will be tracked at the aid station. Running time will start at 6:00 am on Saturday, October 26th. Clock stops at 12:00 noon on Sunday, October 27th. The race will begin and end near the pavilion of the Caledonia Community Green Space. There will be an aid station as well as restrooms available. The route will be a 5 mile loop through Caledonia, on the trails, and around the schools.  
Cost: $35 per runner which includes a shirt, aid station snacks, water/juice, access to restrooms, award for both Male and Female “most miles crushed”.
