Description

The UP Health System Great Bear Chase Ski Marathon includes three distances, with separate races and starts for classic and freestyle: 50k, 25k, and 10k. The Great Bear Chase also includes a 50km skiathlon (25km classic and 25km freestyle). Races are held at the Swedetown ski trails in Calumet, Michigan, which receives more than 230 inches of snow each year. 

Please note - this year's giveaway item is a t-shirt. For the women's shirts, we recommend ordering two sizes larger than your normal size.

CXC Marathon Cup

The Great Bear Chase is part of the Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC) Marathon Cup, which connects the premiere cross county ski events across the central region. To be eligible for Marathon Cup overall, age group, age indexed, team scoring, and CXC Marathon Cup prizes, a CXC Supporter Membership is required. Complete information about the CXC Marathon Cup is at the CXC website. CXC promotes and supports cross country skiing across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, from masters level to youth programs.
