Run / Walk that will start at Ford Field Park in Dearborn, Michigan and lead along the Rouge River Gateway Trail behind the University of Michigan / Dearborn Campus and back to Ford Field Park to Finish.
The idea for this inaugural run/walk originated after our Dearborn Police family lost Sgt. Christopher Hampton on November 25th, 2020 to suicide during his tour of duty. Chris was a wonderful human being, a caring friend, a loving brother / son / father, and an amazing Police Officer. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness for those suffering from anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues that plague first responders, frontline workers, and persons of all backgrounds. Organizations such as CALL FOR BACKUP and DEARBORN POLICE OFFICERS CHARITIES work to provide support and tools to recognize/assist persons in need.
