Description
Come join us for a special event that of celebrates Freedom, Love and Community Support. Our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Mile will be held at Palmer Park, in Detroit Michigan. We will be set up where the beautifully colored building is located, next to the splash pad. This event is a no cost, fun mile, with prizes for everyone who joins us. Fleetfeet of Northville, will provide water and we will have snacks to enjoy after the run. As a Community event, I invite everyone to bring business cards and flyers that they want to share as we network together. We are honored to have Guest speaker, Cora Hill, Retired Register Nurse and World record holder in track and field, will speak on the sport as well as her experience as a Detroiter. This event is free, however we are excepting donation towards our summer reading program that will be held in August, in Detroit. The reading program is free and it is for ages 5-18 who want to brush up on their reading and English skills before they go back to school. We are trying to raise funds so that every Reader can be provided with books, lunch and writing materials. For more details on the reading program, please contact Wynona Thomas at 313-595-9850 or Ashley Tukes-Karnick at 734-444-6757. We hope to see you at the starting line!
