Update to all PH1LL Foundation Race Participants:
With the uncertainty of when we will be able to hold our event we have decided to proceed the best way we can, and we have decided to continue with the Annual PH1LL Foundation 5k as a VIRTUAL RUN/WALK. How does a virtual event work? Anytime between now and May 3rd, or whenever it works for your schedule, instead of meeting at the Detroit Riverwalk and running together, we encourage everyone to run or walk 3.1 miles on their own either outside or on a treadmill. This virtual run or walk will still allow everyone to contribute to a worthy cause, all while providing motivation to be active. We are not requiring you to submit your times to us. We will not issue awards this year.
Registration is still open, race price is only $25 and includes a t-shirt. Once the Stay at Home order is lifted we will provide further details as to how and when you can get your t-shirt. You will be notified via email with this information at a future date.
If you are not interested in running virtually, you can transfer your registration into a donation to the PH1LL Foundation. The PH1LL Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2015 with a mission to provide programs, resources, and scholarship opportunities to single mothers seeking to pursue a college education. The purpose of PH1LL is to help single mothers recognize their potential to attain excellence while being faced with challenges of being a single mother. Last year our 5k raised over $11,000! The annual 5k run/walk is big fundraiser for our foundation. Please visit our Facebook page @ThePH1LLfoundation and/or www. PH1LL.org to see how your donations are supporting our mission.
We are well aware of the life-changing implications for many people due to Covid-19. If your registration/donation will create a financial hardship for your family, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com.
Thank you for your understanding of this difficult situation, and we wish everyone good health in the upcoming months. We will undoubtedly be back in 2021!

Patrick Hill was a Detroit Police officer who was injured in the line of duty on April 2, 2013 and passed away on 10-19-2013 after succumbing to his injuries. Through my grief and dealing with losing my husband physically, I felt obligated to give back to the community that raised him, he protected, and ultimately he gave his life for.
Officer Rose dedicated his K-9 Wolverine in honor of Patrick’s sacrifice on October 19, 2016. The date that marked Officer Patrick Hill’s 3rd End of Watch anniversary. Just over 1 month after the dedication, Officer Rose was ambushed and passed away on November 23, 2016. April 1 is Officer Rose’s birthday and we will also celebrate his legacy and sacrifice this day. Some of the proceeds raised for the 5k will be donated to help assist in finding the person responsible for his death.
