Description

We are saddened that we were not able to have our regular race due to the global pandemic this year. We want to continue to honor fallen officers Patrick E. Hill and Collin Rose by extending a virtual experience this October 18, 2020. A virtual race means you will run on your own, at whatever location is safe for you and your family. You will wear your PH1LL shirt and share your experience with us via social media. Our team will plan to meet downtown at the Riverwalk at 9am. You are welcome to come and walk this area with us, but there will be no official sign in and you will keep track of your own time. Please submit your time to us and we will have trophies for the top overall male and female runners.

I am Deodge Hill, the founder of PH1LL incorporated also known as The PH1LL Foundation. The PH1LL Foundation is a nonprofit organization (501c 3 tax exempt) founded in 2015 with a mission to provide financial resources and scholarship to single mothers pursuing a college education. The purpose of PH1LL is to help single mothers recognize their potential to attain excellence while being faced with challenges of being a single mother. The foundation is named after my late husband, Patrick Hill. Patrick was a Detroit Police officer who passed in the line of duty in October 2013. PH1LL was started in his honor to continue his legacy and provide resources to give back to the community that raised him, he lived for, and he ultimately gave his life for. Officer Collin Rose dedicated his k-9 to Patrick in 2016. He named him after Patrick's street name "Wolverine" with the CVRP group. Sadly, officer Rose was killed in the line of duty one month after Wolverine's dedication ceremony. PH1LL will always work to honor these heroes and their sacrifice while giving to single parents in college.

So get registered and get ready to run or walk for a cause. Much more meaningful this year as we have been through so much. Exercising can help with the mental stress that comes with our new normals. Walking and running outside is an amazing way to release stress and help our purpose this year. We still have so many single parents reaching out for help and still trying to make it during these times. If you already have a shirt, please feel free to join in with us that day. If you just want to donate that is fine too. We are grateful for whatever level of support you give. Thank you for helping is continue their legacy and help the community.
