The City of Detroit Parks & Recreation Department (DPRD) is the premier parks & recreation department within the city of Detroit. As the philanthropic arm for fitness, programs and community engagement DPRD encourages citizens to become stewards of their community parks by walking their community, meeting new friends and starting new habits that may benefit their quality of life. To stay on the forefront of parks/recreation to health/wellness the department established an initiative STAY (Seniors, Teens, Adults, and Youth) Fit for Health initiative which will address the array of physical, mental, natural, and environmental concerns. In addition to being proprietor of 308 parks, DPRD offers programs and activities at 10 recreation, the Historic Fort Wayne and at its only outdoor swimming pool.

Our citizens are informed of the many opportunities available through DPRD however we recognize that there are areas beyond our scope that require collaboration and welcome agencies in the areas of health, wellness and prevention, nutrition, finance, housing and other services to advertise and become a sponsor/partner of our STAY Fit for Health initiative.
