Description
In 1957, The Greater Flint Olympian Games were created in an effort to bring organized sports programming to student athletes within Flint and Genesee County during the summer. Just a year later in 1958, Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) showed interest in establishing an International Summer Games competition that would be held in August, the “CANUSA Games”. Athletes who performed exceptionally well in the Greater Flint Olympian Games were then selected to represent Flint in their respective sport at the CANUSA Games.
The CANUSA Golf Outing is a fundraiser for the Greater Flint Olympian and CANUSA Games. All the money that is generated from this event goes directly to support the CANUSA Games, including sponsoring athletes to compete in the Games, transportation, shirts and housing to name a few.
