Description
Lace up those sneakers and break out your sweatbands because Beacon Hill and the Eastgate Neighborhood Association are teaming up to host a community-wide event you wouldn’t want to miss! Our 6th Annual Eastgate 5K Run-Walk is right around the corner on Saturday September 23rd at 9:00am. Starting in the front parking lot of Beacon Hill, the course winds through the lovely Eastgate Neighborhood staying entirely within the ENA boundaries, coming in to finish at Beacon Hill where there will be food, entertainment, and awards to wrap up the race. Proceeds from the race go to both the Eastgate Neighborhood Association and the Beacon Hill Foundation, which provides sustained benevolent care to residents of Beacon Hill. Not interested in running or walking but still want to be part of the event... we have just the thing for you! Every great race needs fans! Grab your family and friends, your pom poms and posters, and head out to the course to cheer on the racers! If your house is on the course you’re already in a perfect spot! Volunteers are also a vital role in producing a successful event.
On Friday September 22nd leading up to the excitement of race day we will host a community spaghetti dinner for everyone to come and enjoy! Dinner will be from 5-7pm in the Garden Café and tickets will be $5 a person or $20 per family.

Packet Pick Up and Late Registration
Packet pick-up will be available at Beacon Hill at Eastgate race hub located at 1919 Boston Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506 during the following times: Friday, September 22nd - 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 23- 7:00-8:45 a.m.
Awards
Awards will be given for Male, Female, Overall Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (60+). Awards will also be given for age group winners, 1st – 3rd place. Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over (age based on participant’s age on September 22, 2017)
Course
The 5K course runs through the Eastgate neighborhood. The 5K (3.1 mile) course starts and finishes at the Beacon Hill at Eastgate front parking lot located at 1919 Boston Street SE. There will be aid stations along the course. An Awards Ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m.
