As Michigan’s no-crowd gathering guidelines have been extended based on the evolving COVID-19 situation , we have cancelled the “in-person” race for May 2 and created a very special “online virtual run” designed to help you support – now more than ever – local patients and families dealing with ALS. This virtual race will still allow you to complete your 5K, just at your own course. You can run or walk in your neighborhood, a local trail or even your treadmill! HOPE RUNS DEEP
For currently registered runners, see options below. If you have not registered, sign up today!
Additional race information can be found at http://www.nanasrun.com.
Nana's Run celebrates the energy, love of life, and compassion of the late Char VanderLaan, grandmother to event chairpersons, Cassandra DeVos and Sydney DeVos Reames. Char, fondly known as Nana to her grandchildren, passed away from complications attributed to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Together with The ALS Association Michigan Chapter and Mercy Health, Cassandra and Sydney will host the seventh Nana's Run 5k on Saturday, May 2nd as a way to raise awareness and funds for ALS research and treatment so that they may help others who are affected by this dreadful disease.
The proceeds of Nana's Run will go towards the ALS clinic at the Mercy Health Hauenstein Neuroscience Center in Grand Rapids and to the ALS Association Michigan Chapter.

Register by Thursday, April 16 to guarantee your Dri-Fit T-Shirt. Participants that register after April 16 are not guaranteed a shirt.
No dogs or pets of any kind (except service animals) will be allowed in the 5k run/walk.
Nana’s Run will occur rain or shine. In the event of thunder or lightning before the race begins, or any other weather which presents a safety hazard, we'll postpone the run and ask participants to wait inside their vehicles until 20 minutes past the last instance of thunder or lightning. If thunder or lightening occurs after the race has started, Nana’s Run organizers will stop timing the run/walk and Grand Rapids Police Department officials and our volunteers will direct all runners and walkers to seek shelter.
