Description
The Yellow Jacket Challenge is a 5K run and one mile walk sponsored by the Education Foundation of Greenville to benefit Greenville Public Schools. The race is USATF certified and timed by Michigan Running Foundation. Registration is at Greenville High School from 12:30 to 1:45 PM. Race starts at 2:00 PM at Legacy Field. Run along the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail with a finish through the football stadium tunnel onto the south 30 yard line of beautiful Legacy Field. Awards to male/female overall, masters, and age groups 3 deep. Children's fun runs are held after the race for free.
Our race started in 2008 with just over 160 runners. We have grown to an annual event boasting almost 400 runners and more than 100 walkers every year. Our four elementary schools have established successful running clubs with the goal of helping our young students meet the Michigan physical fitness standards and train for a 5K. Our elementary running club students run for free.
